Why have us in Geotechnics

The size of the structure to be built does not influence the need for a geotechnical study. All construction works require a geotechnical study that guarantees the safety and proper functioning of the structure.

Importance of Soil Mechanics

Procedure

  • We carry out analyses of the existing variables on the ground: topography, outcrops, presence of water, slopes and embankments.
  • We generate studies that offer details of the terrain both on the surface and in depth.
  • We provide a report on the type of soil present and its properties: grain size, fine content, plasticity, among others.

The number of studies depends on the characteristics of the project.

Standard Penetration Test

The standard penetration test gives you a quick exploration of the ground. To achieve this, it first obtains altered samples of the strata. Subsequently, in the laboratory, the physical properties and soil index are identified. Additionally, the number of blows necessary for the penetration of the split tube can be known, which allows us to use correlations to determine the shear strength of cohesive and frictional soils. Our standard penetration test has an exploration depth range greater than 3 m.
